ANGEL
ON HOLD
Near Life Experience's Steve Blaze,
in a recent phone interview, said that he had a
great time in New York City auditioning for the
guitar position in 70's rock band, Angel.
The job was to replace original guitarist, Punky
Meadows. Blaze said the audition
went very well. "I've been a fan of
Angel for a long time.", he added. The
planned overseas tour,
promoting new CD, In
The Beginning, has been postponed.
Steve reassures that if he is chosen, his position in Angel
would be temporary and that Near Life Experience will be
back in force in January 2000
REBIRTH
OF THE LOUD
NLEWEB got an early listen to the
remixed version of New World Spirit. It
sounds awesome. The vocals are polished
and Craig's drumming is pronounced. The
public will get a chance to hear it starting
February 26, 2000 when Priority Records releases
the compilation CD Rebirth Of The Loud featuring
NLE along with songs from Marilyn Manson, Tool,
Limp Bizkit and others.

MAESTRO
IN METAL EDGE
This picture of fans Kelly &
Weston Guillory with Near Life Experience's
Steve Blaze appears in the December issue of
Metal Edge along with the following letter
published here with the permission of Mr.
Guillory.
I'm
writing this letter to thank you for the article
on Lillian Axe and Near Life Experience that you
printed a few issues back. It was so cool
to see Lillian Axe back in the pages of Metal
Edge where they belong. Lillian Axe have
reunited to play a few shows together and Stevie
Blaze is even opening with his band Near Life
Experience. We were lucky enough to catch
them at one of those awesome shows when they
came back home to Grant Street Dance Hall here
in Lafayette, LA. It was a great
show! They seem more awesome and energetic
than ever. We were invited backstage after
the show and talked with each member of both
bands. We even got to take a picture with
the awesome Stevie Blaze. Thanks very much
for sticking around for all us metal fans!
NLE
TURNS DALLAS ON ITS SIDE
NLE
played the Canyon Club in Dallas, TX Saturday, Sept.
18. Opening with Megaslowfade, the band blew
away the crowd that sauntered in after the Great
White / Dokken / Lillian Axe show in the adjacent
Bronco Bowl Arena. The continued with Retrieve
The Bodies, New World Spirit, Rock And Roll Killed
The Family, Joan Of Arc, The Night They Clipped My
Wings, Neon Black, Day Of Silver Sun, Razorface, 4
A.M. In A Cold Place, The Last Days Of The Martyr
and I Am Beyond.
New
Music
Near Life Experience debuted a new
song at the Sports Page in Lafayette, LA.
The Night They Clipped My Wings is the title of
the new rocker. NLE will be performing the
song at upcoming shows.
NLE
Record New Song
Near
Life Experience returned to Noise Lab recently to
record their most newly penned song. Entitled Retrieve
the Bodies, the new recording will be held for a
future release. The band will be playing the
song at upcoming shows.
Okie
Loves LA
During
some down time before the show at Zeppelin's, I had
a chance to sit down with Okie and talk for a few
minutes. Okie, a Minnesota native, said that
he really loves living in Louisiana. "The
people are all so friendly. And the food is
just great." If it just wasn't so damn
hot . . .
Sam's
The Man
New
Near Life Experience guitarist, Sam Poitevent, wowed
the crowd at his debut in Houston. Westfield
Civic Center provided the stage for Poitevent's
first live performance with the band. Seeming
a little nervous as he took the stage, Sam ripped
into the opening chords of I Am Beyond. The
crowd went wild screaming his name and giving him
Thumbs Up and other gestures in appreciation of his
excellent guitar work. From all the fans,
Welcome Sam!
New
NLEWEB released
The
second version of NLE WEB is out. The entire release
will be sneaking in over the next few days. The new
makeover will set the stage for more new features
that will debut soon. It’s a complete site
redesign that has a more consistent look between
pages and sub-pages. The site as a whole is much
less graphic-intensive, which should aid in faster
load up times. I think you’ll find the site easier
to read and navigate – resulting in a much more
pleasurable NLE WEB experience.
NLE
Debut New Song
Rock's
biggest act to be, Near Life Experience, officially
added another song to their arsenal in their

taste of the new song, Neon Black. Those who have
heard it have been expounding upon it.
